THE PROBLEM
Indian crypto traders relied on international exchanges with poor INR support, high withdrawal fees, and complex KYC processes. No Indian platform offered a complete trading experience with spot, P2P, staking, and advanced charting in one place.
UX RESEARCH & STRATEGY
Studied top global exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, WazirX) for UX patterns. Surveyed 200+ active traders about pain points: slow order execution, confusing fee structures, and lack of INR on/off ramps. Prioritized speed, transparency, and localized payment methods.
DECISION LOG
WebSocket-based real-time order book vs REST polling — WebSocket chosen for sub-100ms price updates. PostgreSQL with Redis caching layer for high-frequency order matching. Dockerized microservices with AWS ECS for auto-scaling during market volatility.
ARCHITECTURE
Microservices architecture: Order Matching Engine (Node.js), Wallet Service (Node.js), User Auth (Node.js), Notification Service, Market Data Aggregator. PostgreSQL for transactional data, Redis for order book caching and rate limiting. AWS ECS for container orchestration.
UI EXECUTION
Professional trading terminal UI with real-time candlestick charts (TradingView integration), depth chart, order book panel, trade history, and quick-order panel. Dark theme with customizable layouts. Mobile-responsive for on-the-go trading.
BUSINESS IMPACT
Positioned as a complete Indian crypto trading solution. The real-time WebSocket order book achieved 50ms latency, competitive with global exchanges. Localized INR deposit/withdrawal options significantly improved user onboarding.
