THE PROBLEM
Millions of matka players relied on slow, unreliable websites and WhatsApp groups for results. Existing portals had 30-60 second delays, no mobile optimization, and no historical chart data. Users needed instant, accurate results.
UX RESEARCH & STRATEGY
Analyzed user behavior during peak result times (market open/close). Users check results 8-12 times daily, need sub-second load times, and value trust signals (accuracy, speed, reliability above all else). Focused on speed and simplicity.
DECISION LOG
WebSockets vs polling for live updates. WebSocket connection maintained for push updates reduced latency from 30s to under 1s. Redis caching layer for frequently accessed charts reduced DB load by 80%.
ARCHITECTURE
Node.js backend with MySQL for results storage, Redis for caching hot market data, WebSocket for live push to connected clients, and React SPA for the responsive frontend. Firebase for push notifications and Telegram bot integration.
UI EXECUTION
Minimalist, high-contrast design optimized for quick scanning on mobile. Live result ticker with auto-refresh, color-coded market status indicators, and one-tap chart access. Built for 2G connections with 3KB initial payload.
BUSINESS IMPACT
Became a leading matka result platform in India with millions of monthly users. The speed advantage (sub-second updates) captured market share from 6 competing portals. Telegram channel grew to 500K+ subscribers.
